The Fifty-Fifty Jazz and Poetry Festival of Avilés is back with a bang this September, consolidating its position as one of the most unique cultural events in the north of Spain.
In its next edition, the festival will be presenting a vibrant and diverse programme that combines emerging talent, established figures and an international outlook.
An event where contemporary jazz, fusion and scenic energy will be the protagonists.
OPENING
CONCERT
Lucía Rey
The opening will be in charge of the pianist Lucía Rey, nominated to the Spanish Academy of Music Awards, who will present her acclaimed project “Nómadas”, with a quartet led by her.
This work has toured international festivals such as Jazzaldia, JazzMadrid, Jazz Plaza (Cuba) or Buenos Aires Jazz, among many others.

Han sido cuatro días muy intensos de música y palabras y mucha gente a la que agradecer muchas cosas: poetas, artistas, el personal que tanto nos ayuda y, por supuesto, al público, que ha respondido con un entusiasmo que ha sobrepasado todas nuestras expectativas.

Philosophy and
Objectives
Unique event in the current musical and literary scene Non-profit (the objective is cultural, entertainment and educational).
Small-format events (between 50 and 300 people / event)... ... intimate, elegant and fun.
To give priority to quality over quantity.
Voluntarily against the current trends: we think above all in analogical events (real encounters), when everything invites digital consumption (but without forgetting the digital world ...)
The encounter between Jazz and Poetry will not be "forced", nor will they be systematically mixed (fusion is not compulsory, but pairing is good ...)
To promote cooperation with cultural and educational institutions and public-private collaboration, and link the event to entities of recognized national and international prestige
Public-private financing, through grants, supports, sponsors, benefactors and ticketing and some consumptions

ABOUT US
INCOMPARABLE PASSION
Created in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by a group of friends passionate about culture, according to its statutes, the Fifty-Fifty Cultural Association aims to:

Promote cultural and artistic diffusion and fusion, particularly in the fields of jazz, its spin offs, and poetry.

Be a platform for dissemination and meeting among established and emerging artists.

Be a meeting and reflection platform between analogical and digital cultural habits.

Promote gender equality in the field of culture and the cultural and creative industries (ICCs).

Promote intergenerational exchange.

Promote awareness and education actions.

Promote cultural cooperation and exchange, both nationally and internationally.

Filosofía y objetivos
Evento único en el panorama europeo, que trae a Asturias lo mejor del jazz y de la poesía actual.
Primamos la calidad sobre la cantidad
Eventos en pequeño formato (entre 50 y 300 personas) intimistas, elegantes y divertidos.
Sin ánimo de lucro
(el objetivo es cultural, de diversión y educativo)
Voluntariamente a contracorriente: pensamos en analógico (encuentros reales), cuando todo invita al consumo digital
(pero sin olvidar tampoco lo digital…)
No se “forzará” el encuentro jazz y poesía, ni se mezclará sistemáticamente
(la fusión no es obligatoria, pero el maridaje es bueno…)
Fomentar la cooperación con instituciones culturales y educativas y la colaboración público-privada, y ligar el evento a entidades de reconocido prestigio nacional e internacional
Financiación público-privada, a través de subvenciones/apoyos, sponsors, patrocinadores, benefactores e ingresos directos
Vamos a crear residencias artísticas para artistas emergentes, antes del festival

QUIÉNES SOMOS
Pasión incomparable
Creada en plena pandemia del COVID-19 por un grupo de amigos apasionados por la cultura, según sus estatutos, la Asociación Cultural Fifty-Fifty tiene como fines:
La difusión y fusión cultural y artística, en particular en los campos del jazz, de sus derivados, y de la poesía
Ser una plataforma de difusión y encuentro entre artistas consagrados y emergentes
Ser una plataforma de encuentro y reflexión entre el consumo cultural analógico y digital
Promover la igualdad de género en el ámbito de la cultura y de las industrias culturales y creativas (ICCs)
Promover el intercambio intergeneracional
Promover acciones de sensibilización y educación
Promover la cooperación cultural y el intercambio, tanto en el ámbito nacional como en el internacional
